More Than The Grape

It's been almost two weeks since our return, and today we're editing and reviewing photos for the new photo gallery which will be added to the website next week.

This is tons of fun - we're seeing shots of ourselves perched atop rather dangerous-looking vineyard slopes and scenery that takes your breath away. We're also seeing the faces of our dear friends in the Cinque Terre, both those who worked with us on this project, and those who have become the subjects of the film.

In our hearts, we hope that the recent changes at Parco Nazionale, and the upcoming challenges they will certainly face, will keep in mind one single focus - to continue the outstanding and inspiring work that's been done over the last ten years. This is the work, the effort, the innovation which is at the heart of our film. It's not just about a vine, a grape, a wine, a street, or a harbor; it's about keeping those things alive with integrity as they have been for centuries.

We worry about about the potential for Riomaggiore, Manarola, or Corniglia to succumb to the pressures which have changed the soul of some of their neighboring northern towns up and beyond the Cinque Terre. As one of our dear friends told us during the making of the film, economic decisions must be balanced with understanding and passion for the heritage which has allowed the Cinque Terre to thrive for centuries. No passion, no soul.

We look forward to supporting our friends in the Cinque Terre, whenever possible, as we move forward with the challenging and inspiring process of editing the film and crafting a final product which celebrates this passion and love of heritage.

Keep your eyes open for our updates. Things will be moving quickly from here on out!

Baci!
